PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a faceplate securing mechanism used for a slide plate expansion joint for bridge and capable of coping with the vertical displacement of the bridge girder. SOLUTION: A fixed end as one end of a faceplate 11 bridged over an expansion gap is secured to an anchor plate 14A installed on one floor plate by a faceplate fixing mechanism 12. The faceplate fixing mechanism 12 comprises a tightening mechanism formed of a bolt 121 and a nut 126 and an elastic material 122 formed by stacking belleville springs on each other. The bolt 121 is inserted through the faceplate 11 and the anchor plate 14A. The elastic member 122 is interposed between the anchor plate 14A and the nut 126. The faceplate 11 is pressed against the anchor plate 14A. The elastic member 122 absorbs a load applied to the faceplate fixing mechanism 12 due to the displacement of the faceplate 11 at its free end in the vertical direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
