PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably detect powder entrapment with high sensitivity without being affected by obstructions around a mold and the change in ordinary situations within the mold at the time of monitoring the inside of the mold. SOLUTION: This device comprises: a color camera 1 which copies an image in the mold in order to detect the occurrence of the arbnormality within the continuous casting mold based on the image photographed by the camera installed above the mold; and an abnormality detecting section composed of a binarizing section 5 for detecting the arbnormality in the mold by analyzing the distribution information of colors based on the image in the mold and detecting a flame part generated in the mold and a labelling processing section 6.
