<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image processor, its processing method and a program to precisely extract a region to be extracted by inhibiting the region from developing toward other directions than its running direction. <P>SOLUTION: A correlation value Ci between the pixel s of an input image I and a plurality of template images Ti is obtained. The maximum correlation value Ci is used as the likelihood L of the pixel s, and the running direction of template images Ti at that time is used as the running direction θs of pixel s. Then the likelihood L and the running direction θ of each pixel of the input image I are determined. Next, when extracting linear shadows, the object of extraction, from the input image I, an angle ω of the running direction θs of an extracted pixel s with the running direction θn of its adjacent pixel n is determined (Step S303), and compared with a predetermined threshold value Th_ω (Step S304).
