<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of avoiding defects such as stopping of a processing during execution and an awaited request of a new processing in the case of executing update processing of control information stored in control sections of the image processing apparatus while the power consumption of the image processing apparatus is suppressed to the utmost extent. <P>SOLUTION: A memory 66 of a NIC 5 stores version information of firmware stored in advance in the control sections 6 to 9, and in a state of a sleep mode wherein power is supplied to the NIC 5 and no power is supplied to the control sections 6 to 9, the NIC 5 makes communication with an information distribution server 31 to discriminate the necessity of update of the firmware stored in the control sections 6 to 9. Further, the NIC 5 controls a power application switching circuit 10 to start only the control section for storing the firmware whose update is discriminated to be required among the control sections 6 to 9, and updates the firmware stored in the started control section to the firmware with the newest version obtained from the information distribution server 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
