<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device for decreasing a communication speed to communicate with other communication devices before shifting to a power saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: The communication device is provided in which an printer 100 includes a control unit 102 for instructing what communication speed should be used for communication to a LAN control unit 103, and when it is determined to shift en electric power from a power mode for supplying an electric power to the control unit 102 to a power mode for supplying no electric power to the control unit 102, the control unit 102 executes an instruction for decreasing a communication speed to the LAN control unit 103, and after executing the instruction for decreasing the communication speed, a power supply unit 105 stops a power supply. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
