<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus 100, capable of avoiding soiling of passing recording material 71, by preventing soiling of a conveying part 82 provided with a suction fan 61 by scattered toner, without having to require a large number of additional components or damaging toner images. <P>SOLUTION: A toner image, superimposed and primary transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 5, passes through the vicinity of the conveying part 82 by three times. At such a time, a part of the toner is scattered from the intermediate transfer belt 5 on a backup roller 59, an electrode 57, functioning also as an electrifier for separation destaticizing, is provided on the downstream side of a secondary transfer part T2, and a toner collecting part 58 is provided to be opposite to the electrode 57. A control part 400 applies negative scattering preventing voltage, having the same polarity as the electrifying polarity of the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 5 and higher than destaticizing voltage applied during secondary transfer to the electrode 57, in a period during which the toner image passes three times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
