PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a film enabling the shortening of time required for drying the film itself or a coating material coating the film by using superheated steam exclusively for drying the film. SOLUTION: In a drying chamber 10 equipped with a carry in/out section 12 for carrying in/out the film W to be dried into/from the chamber, a heating section 21 for heating inside the chamber and a superheated steam jetting section 22 for jetting superheated steam inside the chamber, the superheated steam of 100-300°C at a normal pressure is applied to the film to be dried to heat and dry the film. A polyolefin film, a polyamide film, a polyester film, a biodegradable film or a wet film consisting of a carbohydrate compound such as a cellophane film is mentioned as the film to be dried.
