PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating body capable of restricting a necessary part and efficiently heating it by a simple constitution, and a fixing device provided with this heating body. SOLUTION: An electron source 32 is supported by interposing an insulating layer 33 in the inner peripheral face of a hollow tubular body 31 of which the inside is airtightly sealed and reduced in pressure. A cross-sectional face of the tubular body is made to be flat shaped and the electron source is installed at a part adjacent and opposed to the inner peripheral face. A voltage is applied between the hollow tubular body and the electron source with this electron source on the negative-polarity potential side, and the tubular body is heated by discharging electrons toward the inner peripheral face of the tubular body from the electron source. The inside of the tubular body is divided into a plurality of regions arranged in parallel in the axial line direction by a barrier rib, and the electron sources installed at the respective divided regions are controlled in application of the voltage independently. Such heating body 3 is contacted with the inner peripheral face of an endless fixing belt 1, and the outer peripheral face of the fixing belt is pressure contacted with a recording sheet P carrying an unfixed toner image T, and the toner image is crimped onto the recording sheet.
