PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston cooling structure for an internal combustion engine capable of further improvement of piston cooling efficiency for an engine employing a double cooling channel structure for cooling pistons. SOLUTION: An oil introduction port 73 is commonized in the piston cooling structure comprising a double cooling channel. A chevron shape section projection 77 including a first inclination part 77a guiding oil injected from an oil injection nozzle 8 to an upper surface of an oil introduction port 73 toward a first cooling channel, and a second inclination part 77b guiding the oil toward a second cooling channel is provided, and oil is circulated only to the first cooling channel 71 when the piston 2 is in a top dead center side, and oil is circulated only to the second cooling channel 72 when the piston 2 is in a bottom dead center side.
