PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire superior in high speed durability and in steering stability and capable of reducing its own weight. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire T is furnished with a belt 2 made of at least two cord crossing layers provided on an outer periphery of a crown part of a radial carcass 3 and a cap ply 4 made of a polyester cord 1 wound around an outer periphery of the belt 2, adhesive treated cord bending hardness of the polyester cord 1 is within 15 to 50 cN, and a cord occupancy on the cap ply 4 of the polyester cord 1 is more than 50%.
