PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable printing apparatus which can be downsized and light-weighted and which contributes to simplification of manufacturing process and to reduction in production cost. SOLUTION: Disposed into the space adjacent to the end side on one side of a chassis are: a feeder drive mechanism to feed recording paper; an ink ribbon feeder drive mechanism to feed an ink ribbon; a motor mechanism to drive the feeder drive mechanism and the ink ribbon feeder drive mechanism; a deceleration mechanism to decelerate the rotary drive from the motor mechanism.
