Apparatus for endoluminally delivering and deploying a prosthesis includes a prosthesis (20) comprising a self-expanding stent (21) and a cover (75) for retaining at least a portion of the self-expanding stent (21). The stent (21) is biased into contact with a first surface (76) of the cover (75). The first surface (76) has a hardness that is equal to or greater than the hardness of the stent (21). A method of manufacturing an endoluminal prosthesis delivery and deployment apparatus is also described.
