The device has a conveyor belt (1) with a support (2) that is formed from a set of transport units, and a drive for conveying packaged goods in a conveying direction. A lever (23) is provided for moving the goods from the support along a direction transverse to the conveying direction. A storage shaft (10) with a feed opening is arranged adjacent to the support in such a manner that the goods reach the feed opening under the effect of gravitational force. An independent claim is also included for a method for storage of packaged goods in a set of storage shafts.
