<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the increase of a cost and the upsizing of the apparatus, and also, capable of enhancing an operation rate. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of sheet feeding units 4 and 6 are connected in series to the image forming apparatus main body 1 including an image forming part 101, and also, an escape unit 3 having a common conveying path 35 for conveying the sheets fed from the plurality of sheet feed units 4 and 6 and an escape conveying path 31 branching from the common conveying path 35 in order to discharge the sheets is provided on the downstream side of the sheet feed unit 4 arranged on the downmost side among the plurality of sheet feed units 4 and 6, are provided. The abnormality of the sheet passing through the common conveying path 35 is detected by an abnormality detection sensor S, and also, the abnormality-detected sheet is discharged through the escape conveying path 31 based on the detection result by the abnormality detection sensor S. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
