PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce air remaining in a filter unit. SOLUTION: Ink is injected from an ink supply passage 24 into the first ink chamber of a filter unit 10 and the first and second ink chambers are filled with ink gradually. When the lower end of a filter 16 partitioning the first and second ink chambers is immersed into ink, the ink spreads while wetting toward the upper portion of the filter by capillary tube power. The filter 16 consists of an upper filter 20 and a lower filter 18 and a partition 22 is provided between. Although the lower filter 18 is wetted with ink, spreading of ink is stopped by the partition 22 and the upper filter 20 is sustained in nonwetted state. Consequently, air in the second ink chamber is discharged from an ink circulation passage 26 through the first ink chamber, and the remaining air K is reduced sharply. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
