PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording accuracy by causing another monitor camera existent closely to also record the peripheral situation of a monitor camera. SOLUTION: A monitor system is constituted of: a photographing means for photographing the peripheral situation; a recording means for recording video data outputted from the photographing means; an abnormality detecting means for detecting occurrence of abnormality; a communication means for transmitting/receiving a predetermined detecting signal upon detecting abnormality by the abnormality detecting means; and an ID acquiring means for acquiring device specific identification information (ID) from the signal upon receiving the predetermined signal by the communication means. Upon receiving the detecting signal by the communication means, the recording means records video data from the photographing means, the communication means transmits a detecting signal reception notification containing the device-specific identification information (ID), and the recording means records the device-specific identification information (ID) from the ID acquiring means.
