PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby a broadcast program whose viewing is reserved can surely be viewed. SOLUTION: A receiver includes: an output means for outputting video and audio associated with a received broadcast program to a monitor; a reservation setting means for storing reservation information including a broadcast start time of the broadcast program before broadcasting of the broadcast program; a notice means for informing an external operation apparatus that the broadcast start time comes before the broadcast start time; a reception means for receiving an operation instruction from the external operation apparatus; and a control means for controlling the output means so as to output the video and audio associated with the broadcast program relative to the reservation information when receiving the operation instruction of the viewing request from the external operation apparatus after the notice means informs the external operation apparatus that the broadcast start time comes.
