PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which can have reliability of display quality by improving response of liquid crystal without providing an additional member for heating, and electronic equipment using the liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device has an air layer 52 between a first substrate 7 and a light guide plate 29 on the opposite side of at least one substrate from a display side, and a heat radiation plate 34 which is in contact with a light source 28 and made of a metal material partially exposed so as to be able to emit heat from the light source 28 to the air layer 52. Thus, the heat from the light source 28 can efficiently be transferred, through the heat radiation plate, to the air layer 52 in contact with the first substrate 7 of a liquid crystal panel 2 and is accumulated in the air layer 52 to be supplied to the first substrate 7 more uniformly.
