PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing efficiency by shortening data erase time. SOLUTION: When erasing data in a storage area on an HDD, an erasure specified area is divided into a plurality of divided areas by a dividing means. Then an erasure information storage means stores erasure information indicating the contents of implemented erasure processing in a top part of each divided area, respectively after the erasure processing to each dividing area. An erasure code indicates implementation of past erasure processing, and an erasure method indicates information on overwrite count. When erasure of storage area of the HDD is instructed, an erasure processing means reads the erasure information from each dividing area in a specified erasure specification area, and carries out erasure processing of a difference between instructed erasure processing and implemented erasure processing indicated by read erasure information for every divided area.
