The gear has a cam follower (120) transferring stroke movement produced by a cam (112) of a cam shaft (110) into an upper end of a charge-cycle valve (140) over a contact point. A coupling unit (160) is arranged between the contact point at the upper end of the charge-cycle valve and the cam follower, and couples a lowered force attack zone (162) of the cam follower with the contact point at the upper end of the charge-cycle valve. The coupling unit transfers the stroke movement into the charge-cycle valve.
