The device has a detection device (22) having a receiver for high-frequency electromagnetic signal. The signal has a scan module for scanning a frequency range. A data output is provided for a data line (24) for the connection to a data-processing system. An alarm and/or cut-off of the self-service equipment are released by detection of sender signal of an accessing device (26). An independent claim is also included for a method for the detection of an accessing device at self-service devices.
