<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of preventing system freezing caused by produced water without excessively complicating system constitution and without limiting using fuel gas to low freezing point alcohol-based hydrocarbon. <P>SOLUTION: A connection passage 41 connecting an oxidant gas passage 31 and a cooling liquid passage 21 is installed, and antifreeze in the cooling liquid passage 21 is made to flow to the gas passage through the connection passage 41. Therefore, the oxidant gas passage 31 does not freeze thanks to the antifreeze. Since freezing is prevented by the antifreeze, fuel gas is not limited to low freezing point alcohol-based hydrocarbon such as methanol. To prevent freezing, only the connection passage 41 and peripheral components 42, 43 are additionally required, and addition of a methanol tank or a methanol supply device is unnecessary.
