PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping device capable of suppressing reduction of a working efficiency for exchange of a wiping sheet and simultaneously an easily performing two kinds of wiping. SOLUTION: The wiping device is provided with two wiping units 101, 102 for individually wiping the nozzle surface 42 of the functional droplet discharge head 17 facing to a wiping area 161, a shift mechanism 100 selectively making the two wiping units 101, 102 facing to the wiping area 161, a Y-axis table 13 for relatively wiping/moving the functional droplet discharge head 17 and the respective wiping units 101, 102, and a control computer for controlling the two wiping units 101, 102, the shift mechanism 100 and the Y-axis table 13.
