An optical member and a backlight assembly having the same are provided to prevent optical loss and to improve optical efficiency by forming a plurality of optical fibers therein. An optical member(150) includes a diffusion part, a light collection part, and a light correction part. The diffusion part is formed to diffuse incident light. The light collection part collects the light diffused from the diffusion part. The correction part is disposed between the light collection part and the light diffusion part or is disposed at one of the light collection part and the light diffusion part. The diffusion part, the light collection part, and the light correction part are formed with one body. The light correction part includes a plurality of optical fibers having media which are different from media of the light diffusion part and the light collection part. |
