<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material which is superior in redox activity, and which is composed of a sulfur containing aromatic polymer in which improvement of theoretical capacity and conductivity is realized, and a secondary battery and a capacitor using it. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode material is constituted of the sulfur containing aromatic polymer expressed by a formula (1) which is a polymer of tetrathionaphthalene having an imino bond at a coupling part, and this is used as a positive electrode material of the secondary battery and the capacitor.
