<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can carry out a measurement of a quantity of light with effects onto a printing action timing or the like being suppressed, and to provide its control method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus (a) first carries out the measurement of the quantity of light for all organic electroluminescence elements 63 and calculates a quantity of light correction value ND corresponding to each organic electroluminescence element. When the continuous printing action is carried out, the image forming apparatus (b) carries out measurement of the quantity of light for a part of the organic electroluminescence elements 63 at the time of non printing between pages, and calculates a quantity of light correction value NDb for the organic electroluminescence element 63. Thereafter, the image forming apparatus (c) calculates a quantity of light correction value NDc for all of the organic electroluminescence elements 63 on the basis of the quantity of light correction value ND and the quantity of light correction value NDb, and corrects the quantity of light ejected by each of the organic electroluminescence elements 63. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
