<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of easily and surely selecting a menu indication displayed in a display image by using a capacitance type input pad and displaying a menu image, and a computer system. <P>SOLUTION: In the input device, menu start areas 43, 44 and 45-47 and an operation area 42 are set on the input surface of the capacitance type input pad 21. When a finger 50 touches one menu start area 44, the menu image 60 corresponding to the menu indication 34 of a display image 30 is displayed. When the finger 50 is slid in a direction X thereafter, the menu image 60 corresponding to another menu indication is displayed, and when the finger 50 is slid in a direction Y, individual menus 61, 62 and 63-67 within the menu image 60 are selected in an order.
