PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently pulverizing a fibrous material containing fibers to obtain an easily reusable powdery product of the fibrous material. SOLUTION: The method for pulverizing the fibrous material containing fibers enables to obtain an easily reusable powdery- or a chip-like product of the fibrous material. The method is carried out on a roll press 1, and comprises a step of roll-compressing/pulverizing the fibrous material between a pair of metallic rolls rotatably driven in a mutually-approaching directions in the roll press 1. In pulverizing the fibrous material, the step of roll-compressing/pulverizing is carried out on the press so that the pair of metallic rolls are energized and driven to apply a compression force to the fibrous material, whereby the fibrous material is spreaded out in its discharged direction due to rotation of the rolls. As a result, fibers contained in the fibrous material are torn, without flocculating, into small fiber pieces to make it possible to efficiently pulverize the fibrous material.
