PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running-up assisting device which decelerates the flow rate of drain water in a drainage ditch located between a paddy field and a channel, contributes to the formation of an environment in which loaches easily run up the drainage ditch into the paddy field to improve the environment of the same, is free from the risk of corrosion and the change of properties, and favorable in durability. SOLUTION: The running-up assisting device is arranged in a pipe as the drainage ditch located between the paddy field and the channel, and composed by forming an almost rectangular synthetic resin frame composed of longitudinal members and transverse members, attaching both ends of a synthetic resin net to the respective longitudinal members, and arranging at least one rope on the net. The net has a width that sags an area between both sides thereof from the surface of the frame, and therefore when the running-up assisting device is set in the pipe, the net sags to a location that almost contacts with the internal peripheral surface of the bottom of the pipe as the drainage ditch.
