PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing method of aluminum or aluminum alloy capable of suppressing pH change of a treating solution containing a metal salt such as nickel acetate accompanied by sealing and suppressing the hydrolysis of the metal salt in the heated treating solution which produces insoluble sediment or reduces the metal salt. SOLUTION: In the sealing method of aluminum or aluminum alloy having a porous anodized coating formed on the surface thereof, the sealing of the anodized coating of aluminum or aluminum alloy is performed in a metal salt aqueous solution containingα-amino acid, wherein theα-amino acid is preferably glycine.
