PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an electrically conductive polyaniline composition having excellent water resistance and a method for producing a film composed of the electrically conductive polyaniline composition. SOLUTION: The method for the production of an electrically conductive polyaniline composition comprises the doping of a polyaniline composed of imino-p-phenylene structure unit expressed by formula (I) with a phenolsulfonic acid novolak resin while performing the chemical oxidation or electrolytic oxidation of the polyaniline. The invention further provides a method for the production of an electrically conductive polyaniline film by contacting a film of the polyaniline composed of imino-p-phenylene structure unit with an aqueous solution of a phenolsulfonic acid novolak resin in the presence of an oxidizing agent to effect the doping of the polyaniline with the novolak resin.
