PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate polyol which improves the surface properties of a polyurethane molding manufactured from a polycarbonate polyol as the raw material obtained from 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol as the major glycol raw material and a manufacturing process of the polycarbonate polyol. SOLUTION: The polycarbonate polyol contains≤0.15 mass% of 4-methyl-tetrahydropyrane. The polycarbonate polyol is manufactured by using a sodium alcoholate expressed by (formula) R-O-Na (wherein, R is a≤4C hydrocarbon group) for the transesterification catalyst.
