The device has an input for a disturbed signal (So) and an output for a suppressed signal (Sl). A differential amplifier (2) compensates a constant component of a small signal e.g. alternating voltage signal. A regulating unit (4) is provided for adjusting the amplification of the differential amplifier. Reference potential (B) of the differential amplifier is adjustable by a unit with an impedance converter (3a) for adjusting the potential, where the unit has a capacitor (3b). An independent claim is also included for a procedure for screening small signals.
