[Also in Division H2] A programme timer for a washing machine, for example, comprises a switching disc 80 (see Division H2) having teeth 92 on its periphery which co-operate with a resilient pawl 78 integral with a slidable bar 52. A synchronous electric motor (Fig. 2, not shown), drives a gear-wheel 44 having a cam 48 thereon for engagement with surfaces 54 and 56 in a slot 50 in bar 52. These surfaces are angled such that the bar 52 is slowly depressed against spring 70 as wheel 44 revolves clockwise, and is then quickly released, thus causing the disc 80 to turn one step for each revolution of wheel 44. |
