A method for treating patients with tuberculosis of lungs and bronchi comprises the simultaneous use of the artificial pneumothorax on the affected side and pneumoperitoneum in the combination with polychemotherapy. Upon admission to the hospital and then, the insufflation of air into the pleural and peritoneal cavities is performed once a week. The pneumothorax is extended to half of the pulmonary volume. When the adhesions are present, they areremoved under the control of videothoracoscope. The optimal volume of pneumoperitoneum extends up to the level of the anterior segment of the fourth rib. In addition, two antituberculous drugs are injected lymphotropically for two months. One drug is injected retrosternally at the site of the jugular recess. The second drug is administered retroxifoidally. The endobronchial sanitation of the tracheobronchial tree is performed once a week.
