The invention concerns melted and poured refractory material containing above 85 % of the zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), for use preferably in glass-melting furnace and to a process for preparation thereof. The material is characterized by that it has the same composition expressed in percents by weight of oxides: ZrO2 > 92 %, SiO2: between 2 and 8 %, Na2O: between 0.12 and 1 %, Al2O3: between 0.2 and 2 %, 0.5 % Y2O3+ CaO 2,6 % at the condition that Y2O3: between 0.3 and 2 %, or that CaO: between 0.5 and 1.93 %.
