A method for providing a third party's phone number in the middle of telephone conversation using a short message is provided to enable a user, who is in the middle of telephone conversation, to obtain a third party's phone number through a short message from the other party and to directly make a call to the third party. If the user of a calling mobile terminal selects the phone book menu as the user of a called mobile terminal asks about a third party's phone number in the middle of telephone conversation, the calling mobile terminal displays the contact address search menu of the phone book(S101). If the user of the calling mobile terminal executes a contact address search operation for the third party on the contact address search screen, the calling mobile terminal confirms whether the third party's phone number exists in the phone book(S102). If so, the calling mobile terminal displays the third party's phone number(S103). And then, if the user selects a contact address send menu, the calling mobile terminal transmits the third party's phone number to the called mobile terminal through a short message(S104). In this case, the third party's phone number is inputted in the sender column of the short message so that the user of the called mobile terminal can directly make a call to the third party by pushing the Send button only.
