<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of improving energy efficiency by reducing start time until the generation of a fuel cell is started, and to provide a method for starting the fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system has a combustor 31 for warming up a fuel cell FC. Hydrogen and air are supplied to the combustor 31 from a hydrogen tank 14 and an air compressor 23, respectively. A control unit 50 performs warm-up by the combustor 31, and replaces air in a fuel gas circulation path with hydrogen when the fuel cell FC is started. When the replacement of hydrogen is completed before the completion of warm-up, current is drawn from the fuel cell FC. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
