<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a storage system and a data management method by which restoration time is specified by shorter time unit and data restoration processing in shorter time is performed. <P>SOLUTION: The first storage system is constituted so that a journal which is update history information of a first volume is created, the created journal is transmitted to a second storage device in a first storage device, data written in the first volume included in the received journal is copied to a second volume, each journal is held, on the other hand, a snapshot of the second volume is regularly or irregularly created, each of the created snapshots is held, after that, the held journal and the snapshot are used to restore the first volume of the specified time according to a request from the outside in the storage device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
