PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving operation auxiliary device for a vehicle, which assists a driver's driving operation so as to smooth a traffic flow. SOLUTION: The driving operation auxiliary device for vehicle calculates a risk potential representing the degree of access to a preceding vehicle by use of the tolerance time and inter-vehicle time between one's own vehicle and the preceding vehicle. If it is predicted that the vehicle is naturally decelerated or accelerated by the driver when entering a tunnel, leaving the tunnel or the like, the risk potential is corrected, and an operation reaction to be generated from an accelerator pedal is calculated based on the corrected risk potential, whereby the driving operation is assisted to smooth the traffic flow while notifying the risk potential to the driver.
