PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly compatible optical disk device by having high read-retry ability and appropriately verifying another model. SOLUTION: The optical disk device includes: a reproduction system for arbitrarily changing reproduction performance; and a means 5 for detecting and discriminating the main cause of a read error. Read-retry is performed by using a reproduction parameter corresponding to the main cause of the read error.
