PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid monitor disposed in the middle of piping such as a water supply line to monitor an intra-pipe flow direction, and moreover, to rapidly detect a back flow or water leakage if it occurs. SOLUTION: The fluid monitor includes a displacement body 4 displaced within a prescribed area in a pipe along an intra-pipe flow, a biasing means 5 biasing the displacement body 4 toward a prescribed position within a movement area to return the displacement body 4 to a prescribed position when fluid stops, and monitoring windows 6 and 7 provided in a pipe wall correspondingly to an end position with the displacement body 4 displaced thereto by a flow in the pipe. The displacement body can have a mode in which it is displaced by making turning motion within a prescribed area, or can have a mode in which it is displaced by making slide movement.
