PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which promotes interaction of silica with rubber molecules to improve the reinforcing property of the silica and gives excellent balance between rolling resistance characteristics and wet performance without deteriorating abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: This rubber composition comprising 100 pts.wt. of a dienic rubber and 20 to 120 pts.wt. of silica is characterized by containing a polymer obtained by polymerizing a compound having at least one acrylamide group and at least one hydroxy group in the molecule with a radical polymerization initiator.
