In a clear view window having a rotatable section 1 mounted centrally in a fixed pane section 15 for rotation by an annular electric motor 16, 17, the rotor 16 carries an annular projection of L-shaped cross-section, the outer part 20 of which embracing the stator 17 forms with an annular projection 21 on the stator, an annular chamber 22, and the said outer part 20 has a circumferential row of holes 23 by which, on rotation of the rotor, air is drawn from the outside through a duct 27 and through the space between the panes 1 and 15 and discharged through the labyrinth of clearance passages between the moving and stationary sections and through the chamber 22. The holes 23 may be substituted by grooves in the end of the section 20 and may slope in the direction opposite to rotation. In another embodiment the chamber 22 may be contained in the annulus 19. |
