The method involves reading data to be transmitted from a serial memory chip (7) with a clock frequency, where the clock frequency corresponds to integral multiples of desired signal frequency, and the memory chip is formed as an electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM). The read serial data are transmitted directly to an identification (ID) transmitter or key by a low frequency (LF) driver stage (9) of an LF antenna (11) with the desired signal frequency. An independent claim is also included for a transmitter for executing a data telegram transmitting method.
