A vent cap for a battery is provided to minimize the number of parts forming the cap, to increase the pressure where the cap is operated, thereby improving the lifespan of a battery, and to reduce the size. A vent cap for a battery comprises: a cylindrical cap main body(120); an elastic safety valve(140) inserted into the bottom of the cap main body; and a spring(130) inserted into the cap main body and mounted on the top of the safety valve. The cap main body has at least one gas discharge path(125) on a lateral side thereof, an insertion groove formed on the lower part thereof for the insertion of the safety valve, and an insertion groove communicating with the insertion groove for the insertion of the spring. The safety valve has a plate-like shape and at least the bottom surface thereof has a convex shape with a downward projection. |
