The rotary body is used for the energy storage apparatus capable of storing energy by rotating the rotary body with the frictional resistance of the bearing part minimized by supportedly levitating the rotary body by the use of the fishing effect by superconductivity. The rotary body (1) is made of a CFRP, and a specified compressive stress is applied thereto beforehand in the reverse direction to the direction of a centrifugal force caused when the rotary body (1) is rotated. The rotary body (1) is formed in a bar-like structure extending in the direction of the centrifugal force caused when the rotary body (1) is rotated.
