PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably deliver paper to a predetermined position on a paper delivery section by focusing on delivery speed of paper delivered to the paper delivery section and establishing a mechanism to decelerate the delivery speed. SOLUTION: Paper delivery rollers 31 sandwiching and carrying paper P and delivering it to a paper delivery tray 33 are provided so as to reciprocate forwards and backwards along the paper delivery direction. While sandwiching and carrying the paper P, the paper delivery rollers 31 are moved to a direction R2, being the downstream side in the paper delivery direction. At the timing when a rear end part P1 of the paper P passes through the paper delivery rollers 31, the paper delivery rollers 31 are moved to a direction R1, being the upstream side in the paper delivery direction and pulled back. Due to this, apparent paper delivery speed of the paper P to the upper face of the paper delivery tray 33 is decelerated, and the delivered paper P is naturally dropped (direction D1) approximately at that position and is gently landed on the paper delivery tray 33.
