PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can satisfy a user in both an image grace and a recording rate with a low price. SOLUTION: A plurality of recording modes in which drive voltage values over an ink temperature are different from each other are prepared, and a discharge amount control within each mode is performed by regulating the drive voltage pulse. In a high image quality mode of placing an importance on image quality, a driving pulse of a long pulse width is impressed by a relatively low voltage, and in a fast mode of placing an importance on recording rate, a short driving pulse of a pulse width is applied by a relatively high voltage. Thereby, in the high image quality mode, a discharge amount control is attained by a wide area temperature range, and a color reproduction is stabilized. Moreover, with a fast mode, the driving frequency of the recording head can be raised, and the recording rate is raised. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
