PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a groove of a predetermined shape on the outer peripheral surface of a workpiece with good accuracy while securing a satisfactory rake angle. SOLUTION: This grooving tool 50 includes: a blade part 52; and a holding part 54 for it. The blade part 52 has a cutting blade 58 of a shape corresponding to a target shape of a groove 46. Further, the blade part 52 is hollow to surround a hollow part 60 inside, and a cutting face 64 of the cutting blade 58 is formed at the tip of the blade part inside surface 62 surrounding a hollow part 60.
